Kim.S

Is the founder of SOS Bull Terrier Canada  someone who has always had animals at the center of her life.

With her ranch and pet boutique, she lives surrounded by them every day. Their well-being always comes first. For her, it’s not just a passion, it’s a way of life.

She’s been involved in rescue for over 18 years now. Back then, she was working at the SPCA during a puppy mill seizure in Rawdon  that’s where she met Scarlett, the dog that would change everything for her.

Over the years, she naturally started helping more and more people around her, until it became clear there was a real need.

In 2013, she launched SOS Bull Terrier Québec, and in 2016 it grew into SOS Bull Terrier Canada, expanding across the country.

Today, she’s still at the heart of the rescue. She’s hands-on, manages cases, and keeps the same vision she had from the start: giving a real chance to the dogs who need it most.

On the Alberta side, she’s the one on the ground holding everything together for our dogs  She makes sure every case is handled properly, that each dog has what they need, and that everything runs smoothly over there.

Her journey in rescue started back in 2004 when she adopted her first pitbull, Cola — the dog that completely changed how she saw everything and taught her more about structure, routine, and understanding temperament. What started as one dog quickly turned into a true passion… and then a lifelong mission.

Over the past 22 years, she’s been deeply involved in multiple rescues. She’s seen it all, worked with all kinds of dogs, but has especially focused on those with behavioural challenges — the ones that need a bit more, push limits, and come with a little extra “spice”.

And those are exactly the dogs that drive her the most. The ones most people label as too much, too intense, or “not adoptable.” She sees past that. She sees the potential, understands what they need, and gives them a real chance.

Her approach is built on structure, consistency, and truly understanding the dog in front of her. She’s not looking for the easy way she’s focused on doing things right so the dog can actually grow and find stability.

Her goal is simple: to give a chance to the ones who need it most. No matter the size, the past, or the level of challenge — she shows up for them and takes them as they are, every single time.

Kim.G

From a very young age, she has always had a deep instinct to help animals in need. Even as a child, she brought home countless animals in distress, driven by a natural desire to protect them and give them a second chance.

When she finally had a place of her own, she began fostering, continuing what had become a true calling.

One rescue case marked a major turning point in her journey and led her to meet Kim S., founder of SOS Bull Terrier Canada. This encounter was pivotal and led her to gradually become involved in various rescue cases, expanding her knowledge and strengthening her commitment.

Two years ago, when a litter of puppies arrived within the rescue, she became even more involved by fostering part of the litter in her home — a meaningful experience that confirmed her deep passion for rescue work.

Over time, their collaboration grew stronger. Together, they experienced emotional, challenging, sometimes frustrating, but also deeply rewarding stories  each one helping to shape their experience and determination.

This is how the idea of creating K2 Rescue Canada came to life. What started as a desire to help turned into something much greater: a mission, a team, and a passion she continues to grow every day.
